Race 1

#4 IMACOOLCAT has a terrific turf pedigree and finds a cozy spot to make his debut. #2 CASTLE BULL has two distant thirds under his belt and may appreciate both the cutback in distance and switch to turf. #7 EARLY NOTE has the steadiest form of any horse in here and gets a big class drop today.

Race 2

#2 DELTA MOON takes his third straight substantial class drop today. His speed figures have been consistent and he ran well to finish less than two lengths behind much tougher last time. #1 SEAWEED JACKSON won impressively last time and would be surprise right back. #7 STAG NIGHT ran well enough to win this in his lone turf start and will be a big price today.

Race 3

#8 WAR BUDDY wasn’t embarrassed against significantly tougher, earning speed figures that tower over this field in both his starts. The drop from $45,000 to $5,000 and the quick eight-day turnaround are scary but he figures to be a very short price for good reason. #5 JEALOUSLY always runs well enough to get involved but looks destined to settle for his 11^th in the money finish.

Race 4

#7 LILJESSICA’SCOYOTE takes an appropriate drop in class off three straight mid-pack finishers against tougher. #2 LETINERIP overcame post 11 to win her debut and should be even better with an inside draw today. #3 FLOR DE CANELA ran well 2 back and had a tough trip last time.

Suggested bet: Pick-4 – 2,3,7 w/ 6 w/ 1,3,5,8 w/ 3

Race 5

All three of #6 CHAMPAGNE DISCO’s turf sprint races were good enough to win this. She’ll be closing late to get at least a piece. #4 MESSALINA had no chance against stakes horses in her lone turf try. She looks like the speed of the speed today and should be tough to catch if she’s ready to fire off a three-month layoff. #3 PING BAY was a solid second in her debut.

Race 6

#1A MATTER OF STYLE drops off a very tough 2x allowance last time. She’d win this pretty easily on her 3yo form. #1 WHAT WILL BE was dominant against easier and should move forward in her second start of the bench. #3 GOLD N’ VELVET will like the cutback to her best distance.

Race 7

#3 TRUE BLUE FINGERS was very impressive in the John D. Marsh Stakes, running wide every step and still getting second behind the ultra-impressive Frisky Thunder. True Blue Fingers stretches back out to a distance he likes for a race devoid of any Frisky Thunders. #4 HASTA LUEGO will be on or near the early lead and should hang on to at least hit the board.

Suggested bet: Pick 3 – 3 w/ 1,3,4 w/ 2,8,9

Race 8

#4 TIGER FEVER was an admirable third in the Buckland, sweeping to the lead before yielding to a monster and just missing second by a head. She always runs well at Colonial and at this distance. Tiger Fever also projects to a perfect trip stalking the two main speeds drawn to her inside. #3 KOSMO’S BUDDY freaked to win a 2x allowance her last time but faces much tougher pace pressure from #1 IMPOSSIBLE TUNE who set the pace before tiring badly in the Buckland.

Race 9

#2 CAPTAIN BRY looked like a sure winner in his debut before just getting beat in the final stride by the heavy favorite should be ultra-tough on the cutback. #8 WAR ACTION has a solid pedigree and trainer Tim Salzman is tremendous with debuters. #9 HALLELUJAH shows nice works.
