Tuesday June 17 picks

Race 1

#4 SACRED SKY probably needs the lead to win but he figures to do both in this spot. #5 BENNY
THE GAP MAN should be closing late and may be the one to benefit if a pace duel develops. #3
SHARMA ran well enough to win this last year but must overcome a long layoff and a trainer switch today.
Suggested bet: Daily Double 4 w/ 2,4

Race 2

#4 SPRING HONOR takes the familiar plunge in class off a layoff for Smithwick/Ross. Most of
those horses run well and Spring Honor should be no exception. #2 ROAD HAZORD runs much
better at Colonial than anywhere else and should appreciate the drop from starter allowance to
$12,500 claiming ranks. #7 TOM’S MULLIGAN fits well after facing tougher all year.
Suggested bet: pick-3 - 2,4 w/ 1,6 w/ 5,8

Race 3

#1 SANDBAGIN’ LOVER was a good second in her debut on dirt. That experience plus the switch to turf today should equal a trip to the winners circle. #6 WHITE HART LANE has suffered from three straight rough trips and will be closing late. #3 AMERI MEOLDY improved last out in her turf debut and has every right to take the needed step forward today.
Suggested bet: Trifecta box 1,3,6

Race 4

#8 OH MY ME MY ran a strong third in a key race the last time he tried turf and has proven to relish the Secretariat Turf Course. #5 WE HOPE is a perfectly reasonable 7-5 morning line choice who must be used. #1 WILD WEEKEND seems off form but has put in some strong turf tries.
Suggested bet: Pick-4 – 5,8 w/ 3,4 w/ 6,8 w/ 6

Race 5

#3 HAVE A BALL is clearly much better and turf and is bred to move up around turns. She shouldbe better now as a 3-year-old and really doesn’t need to improve much over her 2-year-old form to win. #4 SMOOCHIE HOOCHIE should get the lead and features competitive speed figures. #1 ZAM SLAM rallied late after a slow start in her debut and may appreciate the added ground today.
Suggested bet: Win - 3

Race 6

#8 ROBIN DES VAULT was solid 5th, less than 6 lengths behind Bopolene in her last race.
Bopolene came back to run a strong second in a stakes race here Sunday. She takes a huge drop in class and should get a cleaner trip today. #6 FOXYS PERMISO ran a solid race against tougher in her debut and returns off a layoff for a 20% trainer. #2 SMILEY JANE ran well on turf as a 2-year-old and finally gets back to the surface for the first time this year.
Suggested bet: Trifecta – 6,8 w/ 2,6,8 w/ 1,2,6,8

Race 7

#6 ILL TAKE MANHATTEN should move forward in second start off a long layoff and is bred to
improve on turf. #5 BEACH CITY closed well with blinkers added last time and is spotted perfectly spotted today. #3 PUNCHINTINA projects to a perfect stalking if she handles the switch to turf. She ran terribly in her lone turf try but is a much better horse now.
Suggested bet: Pick-3 – 3,5,6 w/ 1,2 w/ 4

Race 8

#1 SHAKY’S PRIZE dominated $25,000 foes at a mile last time and figures to do equally well with a big drop in class and slight cutback in distance today. #2 ROCK’N SLATE is proven at this tricky distance and should sit a perfect stalking trip.
Suggested bet: Daily Double – 1,2 w/ 4

Race 9

#4 TOCCOA loves both the track and distance and has run well off a layoff before. She’s the most likely winner of the day. #2 ALL YOU NEED is good enough but has been away for a long time.
Suggested bet: Win - 4
